French Film gets US and UK deals

Met Film Production’s latest feature French Film, a co-production with Slingshot and JCF, has just secured UK and US distribution deals and is being sold internationally by The Works International. French Film is a cross-cultural romantic comedy shot in London and Paris starring Hugh Bonneville, Anne-Marie Duff, Douglas Henshall, Victoria Hamilton and Eric Cantona. Jackie Oudney’s debut feature, written by Aschlin Ditta (Scenes of a Sexual Nature) and produced by Met Film’s Stewart le Marechal and Slingshot’s Arvind Ethan David, Judy Counihan and Rachel Connors, has been picked up by IFC Festival Direct in the US and Vertigo in the UK. The film has also sold to Australia and New Zealand (Madman), Canada (Mongrel Media), and the CIS/Baltic States (Russian Report). IFC plans a late January 2009 launch, while Vertigo plans to release in spring 2009.

FILM REVIEW (four stars)

"[Deep Water is] by turns a gripping, ripping yarn and an irresistible journey into the heart of darkness, an illuminating film about the treachery of dreams..."
