French Film wins big at Monte Carlo!
Met Film and Slingshot co-production, French Film, has just won Best Screenplay and Best Actor (for Hugh Bonneville's performance) at the Monte Carlo Film Festival. A cross-cultural romantic comedy, written by Aschlin Ditta, directed by Jackie Oudney and produced by Slingshot's Arvind Ethan David, Judy Counihan and Rachel Connors and Stewart le Marechal for Met Film Production also stars Eric Cantona and Anne-Marie Duff. French Film has been picked up for distribution by IFC Festival Direct in the US and Vertigo in the UK. The film has also sold to Australia and New Zealand (Madman), Canada (Mongrel Media), and the CIS/Baltic States (Russian Report). IFC plans a late January 2009 launch, while Vertigo plans to release in spring 2009.
