Wondrous Oblivion

Eleven-year-old David Wiseman is mad about cricket but no good at it. He has all of the kit but none of the skill, and he's a laughing stock at school. When David befriends the cricket-playing Jamaican family that live next door,  his Jewish family is the target of neighbourly abuse, and he has to choose between fitting in and standing up for the new friends.

Daily Express

Wondrous Oblivion: "Once again a modest British feature is one of the week's high points... a lovingly crafted tale deftly mixing social history, personal drama and warm-hearted nostalgia... thoughtful, sensitively handled and expertly acted ... a poignant family film that brings the past vividly alive."
